This book brings together geomorphological materials that have been or could be of value in environmental and watershed management for sustainable development including all the parts of applied geomorphology of a Central Himalayan watershed providing useful survey for those interested in exploring practical applications of geomorphology. It also suggests a number of specific measures for environmental regeneration and sustainable development which appear to be feasible and if sincerely implemented will go a long way in restoring the landscape to its former glory.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR M S Rawat
Dr. M.S. Rawat, Ex-Superinintending Palynologist (Oil & Natural Gas Commission) obtained his Ph.D. degree in Botany 1981 from Meerut University (Ch. Charan Sigh University of U.P.) under the inspiring and able guidance of (Late) Dr. V. Puri, D.Sc. FNA, Professor Emiritus, Meerut University. He has been authoritiative for establishing biostratgraphy and source rock palynology of various sedimentary sections of different sedimentary Basins of India and abroad (Iraq &Abu Dhabi) with particular emphasis on Cambay, Saurashtra Coast, Cauvery, Krishna Godavari and Mahanadi offshore Basins of India.
He has nearly 45 research papers published in national and international journals. He has attended around 25 national and international conferences, seminars and symposiums and presided over Tertiary-Quaternary sessions of certain such meets.
