“Environmental Issue of Development” is an edited volume arising out of the selected papers presented in an International seminar on “Growth Strategy and Environment Issues”. This volume consisting of 34 articles is an attempt to explain the inter-relationship between economic growth and environmental quality in the developing countries. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Ganesh Kawadia

Dr. Ganesh Kawadia is a Professor and Head, School of Economics, Devi Ahilya University, Indore. He is also Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, and coordinator, UGC Special Assistance Programme on "Environment, Development and Poverty". He was also associated with the Department of Economics at Rani Durgawati University, Jabalpur and worked as a Director of Vidhya Bhavan Rural Institute, Udaipur. His main research interests are Environmental Economics, Business Economics and Regional Development. He has published five books and more than 50 research articles in academic Journals and attended various conferences and seminars. He has completed many Evaluation studies on Rural Development Programmes sponsored by Government of Madhya Pradesh.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Kanhaiya Ahuja

Dr. Kanhaiya Ahuja is a Reader in School of Economics, Devi Ahilya University, Indore. Presently he is engaged in an ICSSR Sponsored Research Project and also is the Deputy Coordinator of UGC Special Assistance Programme (SAP) entitled "Environment, Development and Poverty". He has published more than a dozen research articles in national Journals and has participated and presented papers in various conferences and seminars. His main research interests are environmental Economics, Tribal/Rural Development, International Business and Business Economics. Besides 12 years of teaching experience at Post Graduate Level in Devi Ahilya University, Indore, he has also worked in an entrepreneurial capacity for 15 years and got ably exposed to corporate Sector. He is the life member of Madhya Pradesh Economic Association. At present he is the Associate editor, Journal of Madhya Pradesh Economic Association.
