ABOUT THE AUTHOR S.P. Mishra

Dr. S.P. Mishra did B.A. (Honours) and M.A. (Geography) in the first division from Allahabad University and later obtained Ph.D. from Lucknow University. For the nine years previous to his retirement he was principal of a post-graduate college. His services in the field of environment have been used by several government and non-governmental organizations in a direct and indirect manner. He has written four books, one of which Environmental Crisis has been widely acclaimed. Besides publishing 47 research papers in various journals, he has guided 10 Ph.D. students. He has participated in many international and national seminars and workshops. He is a member of the Indian Social sciences Council, Indian Environment Council and is on the national executive of the national Association of geographers. He has been awarded for his Writings on forestry and environment.
