Concern over the impact on human health of chemicals in the environment has increased in recent years. Human health and quality of life are strongly influenced by the environment Both environmental and genetic factors, however, are involved in the production of disease. Human beings, at the apex, while representing the finest product of evolution are in no way different from or more important than any other species. In fact, each species has a role and importance of its own. But the case of man is curious in that the human population is rising by leaps and bounds and at the same time man is exploiting natural resources, living and non-living much faster than these can regenerate and replenish themselves. This book includes different types of environmental pollutions such as air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution, thermal pollution, radiation pollution, land pollution, solid water pollution, marine pollution etc. II not only covers the scientific discussion of each type of pollution, its adverse effects on man and on environment but also the numerous methods of its control.
