The essays on inclusive growth keep in view the aims to achieve sustainable and inclusive development through growth that reduces regional disparities in development and gives priority to agriculture and manufacturing as well as health and education. The essays discuss regional disparities in development, the technology fatigue, growth and sustainability in agriculture covering constraints in growth in this sector, farmer suicides, agricultural pricing policy and impact of organised retailing on India’s farm economy and sustainable sue of water in agriculture. Showcasing views based on interactions with scholars and public figures, they examine how globalisation has resulted in inequalities, ensuring accountability in performance and the challenges ahead for the National Rural Employment Guarantee programme. They delve into growth in Andhra Pradesh in particular where the rising discontent against regional disparities is seen as a crucial factor in the decision to form a separate state of Telangana.
