The book conceptualizes complex problem of ethnic tension in terms of a system, dynamic structure of the phenomenon is elucidated. Explanation, predictive inferences and problems-solving measures are seen to emerge as inter-related facets of an unified analysis. Three major situations of ethnic tension in Indian society viz. Schismatic Turbulence in Assam. The Sikh Extremism in Punjab and Hindu-Muslim Communal Conflict are analysed in detail.
