The second edition of the book has added valuable chapters that cater to the syllabi requirements of universities and polytechnics offering textile technology course. The response to the first edition has been overwhelming and hence the author is motivated to bring out the second edition. A critical review and appreciation of the book by eminent technologist Prof. V.K. Kothari of Indian Institute of Technology New Delhi as appeared in the book review column of the Indian Journal of Fibers and Textile Research has added much value to the book. Corrections have been made to the existing edition wherever necessary.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR N Gokarneshana
Dr. N. Gokarneshan was born in the year 1964. He obtained bachelor`s degree in textile engineering in the year 1985 and postgraduation in textile technology in the year 1988 and Doctorate in the year 2007. He has 8 years of industrial and 10 years of teaching experience. He is presently with the department of textile technology, Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore. He has to his credit three textbooks and about 60 research papers and technical articles in various national and international journals. He has been selected as Biographee in Marquis Who`s Who in Asia, 2007, and Marquis Who`s Who in World, 2008. Recently he has also been selected as ``International Scientist for the year 2008``, by the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England, for his contributions in the field.
