ABOUT THE AUTHOR D. Venkateswarlu

Dr. D. Venkateswarlu is a Professor of Sociology at Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh). He had obtained his Master's degree (1974) from the University of Saugar (Madhya Pradesh), M.Phil. (1976) and Ph.D. (1984) from Jawaharlal Nehru University. He has been serving in SVU since 1979. He has served as the Head of the Department for three tenures and the Chairman of Board of Studies for two tenures. He is currently the Chairman of Board of Studies for Human Rights and Duties. Dr. Venkateswarlu's specializations include Sociology of Dalits, Sociology of Development, Welfare Sociology and Urban Sociology. His other interests include mobilization of marginal groups and active participation in people' science movement. He has authored/edited 4 books and published 35 papers in various journals of repute.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR M. Hanumantha Rao

Dr. M. Hanumantha Rao is currently a Professor of Sociology in Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. He is an alumnus of S.V. University College. He obtained University First in his Post-Graduation. Later he did his doctoral work on 'Gender Role Attitudes of Employed Women'. He became an Assistant Professor in 1979 in the Department in which he had studied. He became an Associate Professor in 1987 and has been a Professor since 1998. He has served as the Head of the Department and also as the Chairman of the board of Studies. He has been publishing papers, attending Seminars and delivering a few ratio talks on topics of Current interest. He has participated in the UGC video-lesson program for the undergraduate Sociology course. Dr. Rao is currently the Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Sociological Society and Director of Student Welfare and Cultural Affairs in S.V.U. Student of temper in common people.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR S. Bhaskar

Dr. S. Bhaskar did his Master's In Anthropology and Sociology from the University of Saugar (Madhya Pradesh) and in Education from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu. He did his doctorate in Sociology from S.G. University Dr. Bhaskar is presently a Professor in the Department of Sociology, S.V. University. He has published more than 50 research papers in various reputed national and international research journal and has presented more than 40 papers in national and has presented more than 40 papers in national and international conferences and seminars. He international conferences and seminars. He has authored 4 books including one text-book for Telugu Akademi for M.A. students. He served as a Reader for two terms in the Section on anthropology and Archaeology in Indian Science Congress (1989-91) held at Madurai and Cochin. He was a Course-writer for M.A. Course for Andhra, Sri Venkateswara, Dr. B.R. Krishnadevaraya Universities. He is also is counsellor for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar open in University. His specializations include Palaeodemography, Urban Sociology, Social Group and Community Studies.
