Girls, as everyone knows, are the best. In this collection, you will find that they can often be even better than that. Plucky girls. Not-so-lucky girls. Bright girls. Short-of-height girls. Quick girls. Always up-to-tricks girls. Go through these pages to find the most exciting bunch girls there is-Miss Patiala Junior the beauty queen who plays a sharp game of football; Bela, a budding detective who investigates sandwiches and other such mysteries; Kavita, a spunky girl who stands up to a giant; Nina, the incurable mischief-maker who lands in a weird school that threatens to mend her ways; and Maggi, the one with noodle curls, who learns that there is big comfort in little things. There is also a gutsy village girl whose admiration for a TV news anchor gets her brother out of a mess; a really short girl who works her way up into the basketball team; a chirpy Egyptian-mummy-fan who sticks up for what she thinks is right; a top-of-the-class prefect who suddenly finds herself labelled a thief; a clever schoolgirl caught between a bully and a scholarship; and a keen quizzer who discovers she can-really, actually-change the world! Favourite Stories for Girls is a collection of stories-some serious, some funny, some in-between-about girls who are champions, each in her own special way. Written by some of India’s best children’s writers-all big girls!-Manjula Padmanabhan, Poile Sengupta, Paro Anand, Chatura Rao, Deepa Agarwal, Adithi Rao, Aditi De and many others-they are sure to become your all-time favourites.
