ABOUT THE AUTHOR Kulwant Singh

Prof. Kulwant Singh, M.A., M.Phil. in English, after retiring from the Post-graduate Department of English at the Government College, Chandigarh, has been a Keen student of Gurbani and Sikh history. Before undertaking the present assignment, he has translated a few books written by Late S. Raghbir Singh ‘Bir’ entrusted to him by the Atam Science Trust. Notable among these books are Sarab Rog Ka Aukhadh Naam, ardas Shakti, simran Mehma and Mystical Tales. Presently, he is working as a research scholar at the Institute of Sikh Studies at Chandigarh. The first volume comprising eighty one episodes from Gur Panth Prakash along with a critical introduction and the simultaneous translation into Roman script will fulfil the long standing need of a vast section of readers who are handicapped to read it in Gurumukhi Script, but are desirous of reading this great epic in the roman script, as well as its translation in English.

Surinder Kumar is Professor of Economics and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak (Haryana). He was Post-Doctoral Visiting Scholar to the Center for Regulated Industries, the New Jerey State University, Neward and Energy and Environment Division, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, University of California. Berkeley. His special areas of interest are: Energy, Economics, Public Economics and Political Economy of Development. He has published on a wide range of issues.
