In the context of changing paradigm in forestry, preparing a forest-working plan at landscape level remains a daunting task for all practicing foresters. Attempts have been made at many quarters to define a basic overarching process, which, if adopted, will lead to the preparation of the forest working plan. This book tries to explain the process along with the underlying concepts. It presents a unique case study on principles and processes involved in revising the working plan of Rajnandgaon, a district in Chhattisgarh. It presents the basic process of working plan revision and introduces the study area and finally, makes an appraisal of past management of forests.
