Forts and Fortifications in Medieval Bengal is a new addition to the Medieval Architectural History of Bengal. The author is Professor Ayesha Begum, an enthusiast in the research of Medieval Archaeology and Art History. For her it is no doubt an unusual venture in the social environment in which she was born and bought up. She visited almost all the forts and their remnants in the country and made personal investigations and took photographs.
