The present book "General Veterinary Micribiology" is divided into four parts and twenty three chapters. The Part 1 includes general bacteriology, which deals with the history, microscopy, classification, nomenclature, structure, morphology, nutrition, growth, cultivation, sterilization, disinfection, identification, antibiotic resistance and genetics of bacteria.

The part ll provides introduction to fungi. The part third includes general virology. which deals with the introduction, classification, cultivation, virus-cell interaction, interferon and genetics of animal viruses. Dr.R.K.Diwakar obtained master's degree in Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology from the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, NDUA and T,Kumarganj, Faizabad (U.P). He has been awarded a gold medal in M.V.Sc. degree and qualified ICAR-NET. He worked as teaching Associate in College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Bharatpur Rajasthan). He has published more than 07 research/review articles in national and international journals of repute. Presently, Dr.Diwakar is working as a Veterinary Officer, Department of Animal Husbandry, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh.

Dr.R.P.Diwakar earned his master's degree in Veterinary Microbiology from the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, NDUA and T, Kumarganj, Faizabad. Presently, Dr. Diwakar is working as an Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary Microbiology, College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, N.D.U. & T.Kumarganj, Faizabad (U.P.). He served as Teching Associate in Department of Veterinary Microbilogy of the same University. Dr.Diwakar worked as Veterinary Officer in the State Government and as SRF in research unit, Institute of Biotechnology, Patwadagar, Nainital (U.K). He qualified ICAR-NET and published more than 22 research articles/review articles/short communication/popular articles in different national and international journals of repute.
