The volume is an outcome of a series of workshops on "Problems and prospects of peace in Northeast India" held by Peace Studies, OKDISCD, Guwahati. Peace Studies started working since October 4, 2004, under a Ford Foundation grant with a view to analyse the reasons for the escalating violence and conflicts in the entire Northeastern region. The volume has been divided into two sections based on the sequence of workshops conducted at different times and at different conflict ridden areas of the region. But for a more visible reading and understanding, this would perhaps help the readers as well. The volume also contains documents related to peace Accords, Ceasefire Agreements, Constitutions of different conflicting parties to the concerned state governments and Central government to look into their problems and grievances. All in all, the volume in its entirety tries to cover views, proceedings and documents related to peace and conflict in the region.
