ABOUT THE AUTHOR B Gurugnanam

Dr. B Gurugnanm, is a Silver medalist in M.Sc. Applied Geology, University first rank in M. Tech in Remote sensing and Secured Second rank in M.Phil. degree Geology Examination. He was awarded doctoral degree for his work in Hydrogeology, Remote Sensing and GIS in year 2003. He served as a Junior Research Associate in Indian institute of  Ocean Management, Anna University for twenty-four months. He joined as a Lecturer in Annamalai University in April 1997 and presently he is a faculty in the Department of Earth Sciences. He has twelve years of teaching experience and has guided many M.Phil students in GIS related studies. He is a specialist in Remote sensing, Geoinformatics and water resource management. He has presented his works in severl conferences and seminars. He has written course materials on GIS, computer cartography, Remote Sensing and Information Technology for DDE students. Making good use of his academic excellence and research experience he has brought out this useful book on GIS.
