Crustal growth along the northwestern margin of the Indian peninsular shield evolved through successive crust building processes starting from the early proterozoic time. Geological evolution of this part of the globe has a big significance from the view that it imbibes important sedimentary depositional basins with hydrocarbon occurrences and potential ground water reservoirs. The book "Geological Evolution of the Northwestern India" includes a large number of papers on different aspects of the subject. A galaxy of eminant scientists from different research organizations and universities have contributed papers on a wide spectrum of subjects. The book will provide advance and updated information to readers who wish to know more and more about this part of the land. As a reference book it would help researchers and academicians associated with earth science and other related subjects like, soil science, hydrogeology, geomorphology, environment, desertification, mineral resources, petrolium geology, palaeontology and palaeobotany etc. The book will prove to be quite useful for students, researchers, scientists and academicians.
