ABOUT THE AUTHOR K. Elangovan

Dr. K. Elangovan is presently a Senior Lecturer at Department of Civil Engineering and In-charge of GIS Laboratory, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. He has wide experience of teaching, research and implementing GIS techniques in various fields and has also delivered many lectures on GIS and GPS applications, in many engineering colleges and also at various seminars and conferences. He has to his credit the success of organizing a national conference entitled "Geoinformatics 2000" along with a training programme on GIS. He has worked on two major AICTE projects related to GIS implementation as a CO-investigator. He has published articles on GIS management, groundwater, solid waste management and water resources development using GIS, have been published in various journals, books, seminars and conferences of both national and international repute. With adequate experience of handling various GIS projects related to various fields he has successfully guided many students for their UG and PG projects besides currently guiding two Ph.D. candidates. He holds life membership in professional bodies like ISTE, ISRS, ISG, INCA, IAEM, AHI, IAH, IWRS, MSI and GSI.
