Bhagavadgita is one of the most important philosophical works of India. It has a number of commentaries on it. One such work is Gitarthasangraha of Yamunacarya. This book, an outcome of a national seminar, organized by the department of philosophy, Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya Haridwar, examines the philosophical importance of ‘Gitarthasangraha’. Showing how Vedant Desik’s Gitartharsangraharaksa’ helps in understanding the ‘Gitarthsangraha’, it also analyzes the importance of Prapatti and the specific role of ‘Jnanayoga’, ‘Karmayaoga’ and ‘Bhaktiyoga’ in seeking Sarnagati. In order to make the book more useful, the thirty two years of ‘Gitarthasangraharaksa’, along with their explanations have also been given.
