This book gives Glimpses of Indian Civilization and Medieval Culture in a wider context. Indian civilization is one of the oldest civilizations of the world. It has seen many ups and downs and many foreign influences have worked out in the past, but its basic structure has remained almost intact and close to Vedic culture with superfluous Muslim influences. The present book covers a wide area of Indian civilization right from governmental administration to its economic features, art, architecture and folk lore to literature. The book will be found very interesting both by generalists and specialists and especially for those who want to know India and its civilization. While glimpses of the ancient period have been given the book mainly covers the medieval and the modern period also.
