Glimpses of Political Thought

The volume tries to study the political ideas of Marx, Mao Zedong, Gramsci, Marcuse, Rawls, M. N. Roy, Gandhi and Ambedkar who made major contributions to the development of political thought and social change. This is a scholarly examination of their writings, covering a wide range of their political ideas. The articles deal with the status of man in capitalist society, Mao’s cultural revolution, relevance of Gramsci’s political thought, Marcuse’s ideas of technological rationality, realities and relevance of Gandhian philosophy and John Rawls and his notion of state.
