Medicinal plants are integral part of Ayurvedic system of medicine. Drugs are obtained from roots, stem, flower, bark or fruit of the medicinal plants. The work titled Glossary of Medicinal Plants use in Ayurveda is aimed at providing the reader with brief but relevant account of medicinal plants used in Indian System of medicine. The plants have been discussed as per syllabus of Dravyaguna (Ayurvedic Pharmacology). The book will serve as useful guide for students and practitioners of Ayurvda.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Amritpal Singh Saroya
Dr. Amritpal Singh Saroya (1971) completed his Ayurvedic studies from Dayanand Ayurvedic College, Jalandhar. He received Master degree in Alternative medicine from Open University of Complementary medicines. He was involved in trials with Ayurvedic formulations for psoriasis, leucoderma and diabetes mellitus at Shri Guru Harkrishan sahib Eye Hospital, Sohana (Ayurvedic Wing). His major work is on standardized extracts of Hypericum perforatum Linn. And Allium sativum Linn. Presently he is working as herbal Consultant for reputed Herbal Organizations. He has published articles in International journals and has six books to his credit.
