ABOUT THE AUTHOR Indira Menon

Indira Manon was born in Madras and grew up in a musical environment. She received her initial training in Karnatak music from the renowned vocalist T. Brinda and advanced training from the vidwans of Katnataka Sangeetha Sabha, Delhi. Besides her deep involvement with Karnatak music, she has a wide range of interests which include Hindustani and Western music, art and architecture. She has published articles and book reviews on art and music. An Economics graduate from Delhi University, Indira is fluent in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and English, and conversant with Sankrit and Telugu.
