Groundwater management needs assessment, which in turn needs a model. The necessary information about the response of the system is provided by a model that describes the behavior of the considered system in response to excitation. Modelling techniques is one of the potential tools to assess the groundwater potential for its effective management.

This book comprises various topics such as aquifer and its characteristics, water resources assessment, recharge process and artificial recharges techniques, principles of groundwater modeling techniques, hard rock aquifer, various case studies, groundwater pollution, groundwater management and policies, specific articles on the status of groundwater sceneries. There are ten contributions under Water Resources Assessment, seventeen contributions on Recharge Process and Techniques and twelve contributions in Groundwater Modeling.
