From the preface: The subject of Plant Pathology has expanded tremendously. Disease development and plant resistance working against disease development are not relatively better understood. Molecular plant pathology is providing appropriate diagnostic tools/techniques for identification of causal agents and introduction of resistance in plants. Our knowledge of understanding the genetics of host parasite interactions have helped in evolving effective tactics of strengthening resistance of host plants.

While, teaching to under graduate students it was felt that most of the students are interested to prepare notes of courses based on class room lectures. They rely solely on class notes. One of the reasons being non-availability of textbooks covering entire course contents, the way they are delivered in class. Recently, we have developed a course material on diseases of horticultural crops and their management under which maximum contents have been developed using our own laboratory and field experiences specially disease epidemiology and integrated management.

Contents: 1. Introductory plant pathology. 2. Diseases of crop plants and their management. 3. Glossary. Appendices.
