Handbook of Microbiology primarily deals with every important aspect of Microbiology, which is likely to be faced by students today. ABOUT THE AUTHOR A.L. Bhatia

Prof. Arviind Lal Bhatia has been teaching for the last 33 years and is presently Head of the Zoology Department, Coordinator of PG Course in Microbiology and Convenor, Institute of Informatics and Instrumentation of the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He has been honoured with several national and international awards, namely, Young Investigator Awarad, ICRR, Holland; Young Scientist Award of Cambridge University; Alexander von Humboldt Award of Germany, etc. He has been nominated to the Biotechnology Advisory Board of Rajasthan and the Advisory Board of the reputed Government national magazine, Vigyan Patrika, NISCAIR, New Delhi. He has also bagged two Nnational Awards from the Rajbhasha Ayog, Government of India, for his books in Hindi. He has delivered several scientific and popular lectures in India and abroad and about a dozen students have obtained doctoral degrees under his guidance. He is on the editorial board of two research journals, and a well-known author of several textbooks. As a popular teacher, he has earned laurels from students, media and colleagues. He is espousing the cause of popularizing science among the masses.
