This book highlights various sources of organic and biological agents which can be used for organic farming and biological agents which can be used for organic farming and as well as for maintenance of soil fertility over years’. Organic manures are byproducts of processes of decomposition of organic materials available both in rural and urban areas. Organic manures have been used by the farmers from the beginning of agriculture. But it was neglected in India during the past two to three decades. This book by Dr. gaur on Organic farming and Biofertilizers is a very timely one, since there s growing interest in organic farming both in India and globally. Organic farming based on the use of techniques of soil and plant health management without the application of mineral fertilizers and chemical pesticides, requires a considerable amount of scientific underpinning. We must standardize methods of maintaining and enhancing soil productivity in perpetuity without associated ecological harm. This is a pathway to an Evergreen revolution which is essential to enabling farm families with small holdings to produce adequate marketable surplus for a reasonable income. Dr. Gaur has given extensive information on methods of improving soil health based on the application of biofertilizers, green manures and cereal-legume rotation.
