Sexually transmitted disease even though AIDS has increased awareness of safer sex practices. The fact that many infected individuals are asymptomatic allows inadvertent transmission of those diseases. This is an excellent book that offers practical information on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of these infections. The Sexually Transmitted Diseases Source book offers more detail on individual diseases, it is much more expensive and lacks this book’s vital information about communication. This is an authoritative book that speaks clearly to a broad range of readers. All other STDs are reviewed in depth, and the winning organization reviews diseases by underlying pathogen (bacteria, fungi, protozoa etc). Also, fully updated coverage of medical, legal and social issues is supplied to give the specialist or primary care physician broad based coverage beyond diagnosis and management concerns.
