Watershed Management is a landscape based strategy that aim to implement improved natural resource management systems for improving livelihoods and promoting beneficial conservation sustainable use and management of natural resources. Integrated watershed management has been promoted in many countries as a suitable strategy for improving productivity and sustainable intensification of agriculture. The government of India in particular accords high priority to watershed programs as a strategy for integrated development of rural communities especially in rain fed and drought prone areas.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Deo Kant Prasad
Deo Kant prasad iscurrently working in the dept. of Agriculture College under Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi (Jharkhand). He has completed master degree in Agronomy and obained Ph.D in Agronomy from Ranchi Agriculture college, Birsa Agricultural University, Kanke, Ranchi (Jharkhand).
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Narendra Prasad
Dr. Narendra Prasad is at present Professor in the University Department of Economics, Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, Bihar. He has written three books, edited three books and contributed about fifty articles for various journals and conferences. Dr. Prasad is a life member of IEA, ISLE and EAB. Presently he is treasurer of Economic Association of Bihar. He has guided a number of research students for Ph. D. degree and conducted three research projects sponsored by UGC. He has attended Summer Institute in Economics and Statistics in 1977, and completed courses on Research Methodology in Economics at ANSISS, Patna in 1986.
