ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jeffrey Hopkins

Jeffrey Hopkins is Professor of Tibetan and Buddhist Studies at the University of Virginia. His more than twenty-five books include Emptiness in the Mind-Only School of Buddhism (California, 1999) Cultivating Compassion (2001), and, as translator-editor, His Holiness the Dalai Lama's How to Practice (2002) and The Meaning of Life (2000).

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Yeshi Donden

Dr. Yeshi Donden was born in 1929 and received the traditional Tibetan medical training in Hlasa, Tibet. Beginning in 1960, he served for over two decades as the personal physician to H.H. the Dalai Lama in Dharamsalla, India. There he re-established the Tibetan Medical Center and achieved fame by his successful treatment of many renowned people. Dr. Donden continues to serve a great number of patients around the world.
