ABOUT THE AUTHOR V.S. Prasad

Prof. V.S. Prasad, Director, National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore, is a well-known educationist and an institution builder. A recipient of many honors and awards for his yeoman services to higher education sector, he recently received the award of Honorary Fellow of the Commonwealth of Learning (2004), conferred by COL for his contribution to Open and Distance Learning. During his career spanning over four decades, he served in several distinguished positions in country’s premier universities and higher education bodies, including Vice-Chancellor of the first Indian Open University Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad and Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Acting Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. A widely traveled academician, he is on several international networks of quality assurance agencies and is actively engaged in their activities.
