Historical Development of Legal Literature on Customary Laws in Assam: A Critical Study

The increasingly uncontrollable information and literature are creating the problems for proper accessing into the subjects. The researchers are getting much more difficulties in this aspect. The present work of study is expected to guide the scholars, aspirants, professionals, students, etc., who lack the knowledge about the sources of present laws based on customs. This work furnishes a critical study along with bibliography and abstracts which depicts the chain of legal system, literature and its development throughout the ages with special reference to the state of Assam. The customary practices, prejudicial customs, laws etc., of local inhabitants and the tribal societies of Assam have also been elaborately discussed. It might be helpful document to the users or researchers for further investigating work as well as to author, publishers, vendors and librarians who get inspired to select, procure and organize the literature in legal affairs. It is humbly hoped that it be a property of library world.
