The present study is confined to such schools which were directly or indirectly related to Christian Churches. For writing this book I visited all the Christian Missionary Schools and their Churches in Dehra Dun, Sardhana, Saharanpur, Ludhiana and Mussourie. Expansion of Missionary activities acquired a great speed after 1813. The march of the Christian Missions continued towards North. The trade routes linking Roorkee with the hill stations of Landour and Mussourie via Dehra Dun was already cleared by 1823. The Roman Catholic Church, Church of England and American Presbyterian Church opened their schools at Dehra Dun.
