ABOUT THE AUTHOR G.N. Kothiyal

The writer was born in 1926 in a deeply religious family and introduced very early in life to scriptures. This had an abiding influence on him, later he was introduced to different social and political theories. He joined service with Govt. of India after obtaining post-gractuatc degree. The job necessitated tour in different parts of India which contributed to a better understanding of the people. But , at the same time this made life rather unsettled. Even then the writer continued with the habit of reading books on a wide range of subjects and meanwhile was writing a little. G.N. Kothiyal undertook to write the present book after retirement. His life long reading has been the main force behind this effort.
