ABOUT THE AUTHOR H. Heimlich
Henry J. Heimlich, M.D., is a Professor of Advanced Clinical sciences at Xavier University, USA, Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and is on the staff of Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati. Educated at the Cornell University and Cornell Medical College, Dr. Heimlich served as surgical resident at Mt. Sinai and Bellevue hospitals in New York. He lectures to medical students and other groups around the world on the Heimlich maneuver, surgery, emergency medicine and 'Computers for Peace'. The International Platform Association has designated Dr. Heimlich among the top 20 speakers in USA. He is experimenting in biomedical engineering and is continuing research in thoracic surgery and the treatment of cancer. He has just completed work with three other scientists, one of which is Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, on the development of a portable oxygen supply unit for people who suffer from emphysema and other chronic lung diseases.
