There is no comprehensive book available which deals exclusively with the horticulture industry of the region. The present volume integrates the scientific information of all aspects of production technology of important fruits, vegetables, ornamental, tuber and rhizomatous crops, medicinal and aromatic plants and plantation crops like tea, rubber and coffee. Since North Eastern Region is considered a natural home for different crop species, a separate chapter on indigenous germplasm has been provided. In keeping with the need of the planners and extension agencies, production and constraints in growth of horticulture industry have been included and analysed elaborately in independent chapters.
