Tabla is an important instrument in Indian music. It accompanies almost all the renderings of singing, dance and instrumental music. Its accompaniment makes the dance and music more attractive and sonorous. The rhythmic accompaniment enhances the beauty of a musical rendering by providing a rhythmic base on which the waves of music dance.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Mamta Chaturvedi
Dr. Mamta Chaturvedi obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Rajasthan. She published a number of articles and a book on Aesthetics by Rajasthan Hindi Grantha Akademi, Jaipur. Her paintings have been exhibited in National, Regional and State exhibitions. At present she is working as Assistant Professor in Painting, Rajasthan School of Arts, Jaipur.
