The present study "Human Resource Management in Libraries" focuses on various important issues that shape the nature of human resources management in modern libraries. Libraries have undergone tremendous change during the last two decades of the 20 century. As organisations, they have experienced significant changes in the role and definition of professionalism, along with challenges from such shifting workplace demographics as age and ethnicity and technological issues, which have also had direct impact on the recruitment and retention of staff. Human Resource Management in a library must balance many challenging forces and there is no Modus Operandi to determine which of these forces should get priority.
