Human rights are inseparable form social work theories, values, ethics and practice. Rights corresponding to human needs have to be upheld and postured. ABOUT THE AUTHOR A.S. Kohli

Arbinder Singh Kohli (b. 1947) obtained his Master’s degree in Social Work and LL.B. from the University of Delhi. He also holds Diploma in Rural Services from National Council for Higher Education, ministry of Education, New Delhi. Currently he is Professor and Head of the Department of Social Work, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. A seasoned teacher having over 30 years’ professional standing. Prof. Kohli specializes in the Community Organisation, Social Welfare and Human Rights. A prolific Writer, he has authored several research papers / articles, published in reputed journals besides many scholarly book in his area of specialization. Prof. Kohli has participated in many national / international seminars where he presented learned papers. He has been associated with many research projects sponsored by different national and international agencies.
