Labour forms an important part of human beings subjected to arduous labour and exploitation by employers. Hence Labour Rights are as important as Human Rights. In India the concept of human rights has transformed from Dharma in ancient period to natural rights in medieval period and attained the status of legal force in the modern period. The present volume examines the human rights perspective of labour rights in India. It analyses contribution of various international instruments to human rights and labour rights. It highlights various legislations on labour rights in India and also analyses some important judicial decisions. However, it primarily confines to human rights issues in relation to labour rights in organized sector in India.
