ABOUT THE AUTHOR Rajindar Sachar
Justice Rajindar Sachar (b. 22 December 1923) belongs to an illustrious family of freedom fighters. His father Shri Bhim Sen Sachar participated in several satyagraha movements in pre – 1947 period and suffered in jails. Governor of Andhra Pradesh and High Commissioner in Sri Lanka. An eminent Advocate by profession, he was appointed Judge of Delhi High Court in 1970. first Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court in 1975 and Chief Justice of Delhi High court in 1985. He has deep interest in several academic institutions which have honoured him with awards and degrees. His contribution in Peoples Union for Civil Liberties. UNICEF, lawyers’ forum, human rights, intellectuals forum, and numerous other activities for human welfare enabled him to receive unique honours in national and international sphere. At present Mr. Sachar is a Senior Advocate in the Supreme Court of India.
