The theme on Identity and Genesis of Caste System in India has been well-weaved in eleven chapters which spell out details on the subject which have been collected from several academic institutions. The division of society based on caste system was seriously viewed by reformers like Gautam Buddha, Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and others. Their teachings and reforming zeal had much effect in alleviating their socio-economic stature. But still much is to be done in this direction. This work will be useful for social scientists, teachers, scholars and students in India and abroad.
