The Illustrated Flora of Keoladeo National Park, Bharatpur, Rajasthan caters to the needs of naturalists, students and also professionals who visit the Park. The illustrations alone will be sufficient to identify species. Keys to families, genera and species are also given. The key to species is only for those identified from the Park. Although the Keoladeo or Ghana National Park covers a very small area, the number of species identified is very high, showing the species richness and diversity of plants inside the Park due to the mosaic of varied habitats found there. This book will also be of great help in the identification of most tropical wetland species, especially of the Indogangetic Plains. V.P. Prasad is currently working for the Botanical Survey of Indioa. HE, along with C.R. Ajithkumar, represents the contribution of BNHS scientists in this work. Daniel Mason and Joy E. Marburger, who are presently working at the Wetlands Research Inc., Illinois, USA, studied the Park flora extensively. The book is thus an excellent example of successful cooperation between scientific institutions of differing cultures and countries.
