This book is a pioneering attempt at evaluating Sri Aurobindo’s work from multiple perspectives and from different subject-fields. Scholars who contribute here come from the disciplines of literature, philosophy, education and political science. The poet-saint-philosopher-political thinker emerges all the more strongly, providing a clue to many more explorations. The volume is thoroughly well-researched with key articles establishing Aurobindo’s relevance to present-day education and showing how literary analysis and procedures can evolve out of his poetry and prose. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Charu Sheel Singh
Dr. Charu Sheel Singh (b. 1955) has been Reader in English at Kashi Vidyapith since 1986. He graduated in English from Aligarh Muslim University in 1976 and got his Ph.D in 1978 from Banaras Hindu University. In 1982, Dr. Singh went to a British University with a fellowhsip sponsored by the British Council. In 1985 Dr. Singh had the prestigious UGC's Scientist "B" Award for five years for an advanced reseaerch in English literature. He was selected as a post doctoral fellow at the University of Yale, in the USA during 1988-89. Dr. Singh has been teaching over thirteen years under-graduate and graduate students and supervising research at the Ph.D. level. He is a life member of american Studies Research Centre, Hyderabad, Indian Journal of Writing in English, Gulbarga, Member of Indian P.E.N., Bombay. His name figures in Sahitya Akademi's Who's Who.
