As a result professional librarians must be computer literate and knowledgeable about internet technologies to fully participate in the planning design, and implementation of future library services. This book indents to describe information technology advances that have enhanced the ability of libraries to serve their communities, lower their costs, and fully participate in the new networked world. It enables the readers to understand the process of electronic dissemination of information, the impact of the internet on libraries, the changing responsibilities of library professionals, the new paradigm for evaluating information, and characteristics and functions of today’s library personnel.
