The present book deals with technological impact on productivity of major corps during pre-technological and post-technological period of implementation of NARP programmes in the Sate.  It has three major objectives: first, to find out technological impact on use of crucial inputs and productivity of major crops in different agro-climatic zones, second, to examine the changes in resource use efficiency and determine the optimum use levels in crop production over a period of time, third, to find out the share of the technology in the productivity of crops and to assess the economic sustainability of crop production technology over a period of time.  The bulk of this book is devoted to examination of contribution of technology in the increased productivity of crops.  Use of empirical methods and simple but effective methodology bring out the sustainability of the technology in sharp focus.  This book will be great use to students, economists, policy makers, researchers and to all those who are interested in agriculture development, particularly in developing countries.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Balasaheb Pawar

B.N. Pawar (born 1962) was educated through College of Agriculture, Kolhapur and Post Graduate Department of Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth Rahuri (1983). He also obtained post graduation education from Shivaji University, Kolhapur (1987). He has been a Junior Research Assistant (15 years) and Senior Research Assistant (5 years) at Department of Agricultural Economics. Dr. Balasaheb Pawar was recipient of ICAR scholarship at undergraduate level. He has several original published research papers to his credit. Presently, he is actively engaged in teaching of undergraduate level at College of Agriculture, Kolhapur.
