The Constitutional Acts had witness two significant phases of modern Indian History, one is pre-1857 and the other is past-1857. The acts passed from time to time greatly facilitated the proper functioning of the state-machinery. It is an admitted fact that the process was slow as the British Government showed the sense of reluctance to pass act at one go. The chapters are indeed well-knit and the material have been collected from scattered threads. Hopefully the details given in the chapters would be quite adequate for students of constitutional history. The teachers can take advantage of several useful details in these chapters.
