ABOUT THE AUTHOR C.P. Khare

C.P. Khare (b. December 18, 1932, Herbalist for the last 50 years. Born into the family of herbal physicians. Studied the original Ayurvedic texts and acquired firsthand knowledge of cultivation and processing of herbs and their usage even before going to college. After graduation, took up journalism in 1952. Since then edited and contributed many features on health and personal problems in various journals. Has been working as a director of one of the biggest publishing houses of India for the last 30 years - publishing 21 magazines in 7 languages, commanding a total circulation of more than 2.25 million. As Founder President of Society for new Age Herbals, he sought cooperation and participation of physicians of modern medicine, traditional medicine, pharmacologists and scientists to modify, restructure and re-examine the age-old herbal formulations in the light of pharmacological research and clinical trials being undertaken in various research institutes in India. "Indian herbal Therapies" is the ultimate outcome of more than ten years' efforts.
