ABOUT THE AUTHOR Shripada Bandyopadhyaya

Born on October 1, 1911, Shri Shripada Bandyopadhyaya received his training in Hindusthani classical vocal music and in the art of playing on Sitar from the unequivocal masters, the late Dr.S.N.Ratanjankar and late Ustad Allah-uddin Khan. He later obtained the degree of Sangeet and Vadya Visharad, B. mus. He is an esteemed member of the Faculty of Music and Fine Arts, University of Delhi and of the famous Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapith, Lucknow. He has served the Faculties of Music of the leading Universities either as a member or as an examiner, or as both.
