This book is an attempt to provide information on a few temples and to explain the importance and benefits of the festivals and rituals.  The materials for this book have been taken from the Tamil book "Iniya Chinthanaikal" written by Shantha Varadarajan.  The first part of this book gives details about 40 temples dedicated to various deities.  Our temples are mostly many centuries old and are famous for their magnificence, glory and inspiring puranic origin.  A visit to the temple enables the mankind to derive moral strength and to receive the divine grace and blessings of the ‘Almighty’.  Therefore, the articles contain vivid description of the origin, location, details of the presiding deity and other idols installed in the temples and also the festivals celebrated there.  The book contains a few articles on the Hindu temples at America.  Our two sons and daughters-in-law are working there and our grand children are pursuing their studies.
