ABOUT THE AUTHOR Anita Arya

Dr. Anita Arya has already left an indelible mark in country's life as an authoress, administrator, politician and social worker. She also has a sound and academic record to her credit. She obtained her Ph.D. in History from Agra University (now Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University). In capacity of the Mysore of Delhi, her performance, wisdom and uncommonly style of functioning captured the aspirations of people. In view of her selfless services for the welfare and development of weaker sections, she was appointed the General Secretary of SC/ST Welfare Morcha of BJP. She was also the Deputy Chairperson of the Educational Committee of the MCD. During her short tenure as Mayor, she brought about some substantial changes in the administration of Delhi Municipal Corporation and vigorously worked for providing better civic amentities to Delhiites. Presently she is Member of Lok Sabha. Apart from this, she holds the memberships of different prestigious committees and institutions such as Railway Standing Committees, Advisory Committee DDA, Parliamentary Affair Committees, Women and Empowerment Committees, Coal Committee, Courts, Jamia Millia Islamia. She is also the Chairperson of Central District Committee for Police.
